Hi Pen,

I have read each book in the series at least two times and have watched each episode in the TV Series at least once.

We visited Shrewsbury on our trips to England in 2006 and 2010 with the express intent of seeing the spots that have survived that are mentioned in the books. I can’t get to the computer at the moment because it’s better to let sleeping dogs lie, but when we get up, I will look at the diaries and photos to see if any are worth  putting in a post.

I've had a long busy day so I'm going to search for a few words and slump in my chair in front of the box!  I've got Only Connect to watch.  It's a bit like watching University Challenge - can't answer many questions but quite entertaining

Weather's turned with a vengeance here   It's howling a gale & lashing down with rain.  Very glad I'm indoors!

I told Blue that teaching grammar is going out of fashion.  He said,”I don’t know why. It’s the difference betweer knowing your shit and knowing you’re shit.”

Blue wanted to know why nobody is ever the right amount of whelmed.

A scene of modern Britain played out on a Great Western Railway train going from London to Cardiff yesterday. A woman wearing a niqab was chatting to her son in another language. After five minutes, a pompous git of a man suddenly snapped: ‘If you’re in the UK, you should speak English.’ At this, another passenger turned round and explained in a soft lilting voice: ‘Hey boyo, we’re in Wales. And she’s speaking Welsh.’”

Love that programme, Pen.  Makes me feel quite thick but so smug when I can actually work out the answer.   Extreme lateral thinking required and it does help if you look nerdy, too!
