Hi Moyra,

On reflection, It would have been fairer if I had originally made the clue "Picture 3.  Take the first three letters of the picture. Pronounce the last letter as a soft 'G' and change the first letter and then make a homophone."

I don't expect that you would have any difficulty with today's effort.

The weather here has been great despite the dour predictions of the weatherman.

Between you and me, did that help?

Hi Jack

Our weather is going in the opposite direction!  It's quite Autumnal now.  Quite chilly in the mornings & evenings & the nights are really drawing in :(

I sorted half your previous rebus last night - I knew what you were getting at but couldn't coin the phrase :-R  Got it now &, as you say, little difficulty with today's offering :)

I'm picking Barbs up in a little while.  We're off to the Grumpy Cook in Loughton for a bacon roll :-H & a walk.  Depending on whether she wants to go anywhere else I hope to be back later.

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

I'm back Jack

Had a very enjoyable outing & a yummy sausage sarnie :)

My rebus is the ear worm I've had for two or three days.  It's a song from the 1970's.

#1 #4 #3 8 (#5 + #3)

Please rearrange the last three letters in the second picture & change the first letter of the fourth picture & lose the first letter of the surname of the tennis player.  All on one line. (Apologies for the return of the sheep >:D)

A polar bear walks into the Royal Oak in the East End and orders a pint of beer. The barman says, “£17, please.”
The polar bear pays and takes a seat.
Bemused, the barman approaches and says, “This is exciting, we don’t get many polar bears in here!”
To which the polar bear replies, “I’m not surprised with beer at £17 a pint.”

Leave you with this.

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

Hi Pen,

I think I have an answer to your rebus if I can change the first letter of your fourth picture to “kn”

I read this review and decided its subject would make a good rebus.

Stopped in for some souvenir shopping on a Saturday afternoon. Tons of places just like this one all around but had to go in because I loved the name. As it turned out the staff were very friendly and helpful as well. I give it two thumbs up if you need a kilt and some bagpipes to take home to the family!!

Location important.  For those with small screens Pictures 1-4 are on line 1. Picture 5-7 are on line 2
Picture 2.  Two options. Go for alphabetical order.
Picture 3.  A heteronym.  If you haven’t been there, it is France’s 5th biggest city.
Picture 4.  Use the first syllable of the painter.
Picture 5.  Only use the second half

Hi Jack

You can & I should have clarified that as part of my hints!

I'll give your rebus my proper attention tomorrow. Need to get my head down :-Y

Hi Jack

Another cracking rebus - you've surpassed yourself :)  Just tricky enough without being impossible.  Loved it :-*

I can't match that but my rebus is a song you'd expect to hear if you attended a sporting fixture in South West London.

#5 #3 #5 7 (#3 + #4)

Please use three consecutive letters from the middle of picture two.  Just one of picture three.  How would you refer to the musicians in the last picture?  & then re-arrange the letters. Oh & picture four isn't as simple as just tea - you need an English expression. Please pretend it's all on one line.

It's a lovely sunny afternoon so I'm going out for a walk.  Hope I don't do this...

Hi Pen,

On the contrary, not only an excellent rebus but great humour.

This rebus is practiced by many people of a certain age.

How'do Jack

Another very clever & enjoyable rebus :)  Took me a little while as I got stuck on the third picture :-R  It just suddenly fell into place!  It's surprising what a cuppa can do for the little grey cell

Gorgeous picture of Bonnie & Dusty & that is a very cute little dog :)  I thought to start with it that it was a Jack Russell but having had another look I'm not so sure.

My rebus is a place you might go to enjoy Sex on the Beach >:D

You need the last letter of the moggy but say it phonetically please. Please lose the last letter of picture three (shortened version).  I know the sums don't add up but please change the first letter of picture four & then run four & five into one another.  Please pretend it's all on one line.

Think it's time for another cuppa :)

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

Great pics, Jack, just what I needed. Including a young Eddie (Frasier) was a bonus.

A saying, popular while I was growing up; not so much now...

#5 #3 #3 , #5 #3 #5
Image 2 - first half only; image 4 - you're not interested in the cat, just what's happening to it; image 5 - second half only; notionally all on one line

Hi Pen,

Madeleine has confirmed it is a wire-haired Jack Russell

I think that’s a bit unfair, Pen.  The last time I had sex on a beach you would still have been in kindergarten.  >:D

Blue and I were chewing the fat last night. Eventually, the topic got around to politicians and their role as our leaders.
Blue said, “Well, as I see it, most politicians are “Post Turtles”.
Not being familiar with the term, I asked him what “a post turtle” was.
Blue said, “When you’re driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that’s a post turtle”.
Blue saw a puzzled look on my face so he continued to explain.
You know he didn’t get up there by himself, he doesn’t belong up there, he’s elevated above his ability to function, and you just wonder what kind of dumb bastard put him up there, to begin with! ”.

A well-known idiom;

#4  7   3   5(#4 # 4)

Position is paramount; homophones abound; should fit on one line; definite article not pictured.

I don’t know what made me think of this.  >:D

Regards, Jack
