Have to say the answer to your rebus does not seem  like your kind of reading

Hi Jack

I was giggling when I read Carol's post first thing this morning   I thought for one awful moment that perhaps you'd taken leave of your senses & forsaken Ruth Downie in favour of Barbara Cartland >:D  >:D

I'm having a very busy morning & I've just got time for a very quick puzzle before lunch.  It's a novel from a few years ago >:D

I've probably used the second picture before but it's so cute I couldn't resist

Time I wasn't here!

Hi Pen,

We put Andrew on a plane to a cold wet Canberra yesterday afternoon.  We got a phone call last night to confirm that he arrived home safely and had all heaters on to warm up the icebox.

I'll leave you with

Bonnie enjoying her walk with Pascal on Wednesday

Hi Jack. I wish I was in Canberra with Andrew.  I'm sitting on top of my bed & melting - heaven knows how I'll sleep :(
Gorgeous snippet of Bonnie with Pascal :)
Back tomorrow (later!) with a proper post. Assuming I haven't spontaneously combusted in the meantime

Hi Jack

You'll be pleased to know I haven't spontaneously combusted but my day ran away with me!  It's even hotter today.  A decent nights sleep is fast becoming a distant memory :(

Like Arnie - I'll be back ;D

Hi Madeleine,

We may be biased but we think Bonnie is the bee's knees. She is a high-energy, super intelligent dog and we realise we will never reach the standard of fitness to be able to let her reach her full potential for fitness and mental stimulation.  We decided to use Michelle and Pascal as an experiment and even in a few weeks, the results prove this is the way to go.

A bonus is that they record some of their activities and put them up on Facebook.

Hi Jack

Another scorcher here today.  I'm skulking indoors with the curtains closed but it's still too hot phew!

Madeleine is spot on about Bonnie :)   Look forward to some more clips & pictures.

My rebus today is your recommended reading for the weekend >:D

THEOF

There are a couple of homophones.  Was a bit stuck for what to use for the last picture but hopefully you'll put two & two together! Please pretend it's all on one line.

Leave you with this...

Hi Pen,

It’s a pity we can’t average our temperatures, it’s freezing here - 10oC.

I’ve got my reading for the weekend set out -.  The Two novels of Ruth Downie's Gaius Petreius Ruso series.

I’m having a short dalliance with the last picture of your rebus but if I have the rest right then I know what it is but I can’t work out why.

The walkers don’t take pictures every time they take Bonnie out but I will post some of the best ones if they keep up the tradition.

I had to brush up my Shakespeare to get the first one below.

Hi Jack

That sounds like a great idea :)  Instead of 34oc it would be a much more comfortable 22oc! It's meant to break tomorrow.  They're forecasting storms for Monday & Tuesday.  I know we need it but I could do without hiding in the cupboard under the stairs

It took me a little while for the penny to drop with the Shakespeare cartoon!

I thought my last picture might give you a bit of a headache.  Having thought about it a simpler idea for the last word would have been to use this...

& tell you to insert an extra letter near the beginning.  Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?

If you don't fancy my Mills & Boon offering then perhaps a little Barbara Cartland instead? >:D

Hi Pen,

I had sussed your previous rebus correctly, but I still can't make the connection with your original picture.

I have got the answer to your latest rebus but please don’t ask me to read it. ;D  I will get around to the spoiler alerts and a proper post later today.

Sorry Jack the picture was meant to be dull ???

Having a very busy Monday so just a flying visit from me.

I just found out who's been pinching beetroot from my garden...
I caught them red handed!

After five long years I've finally come up with the best clock joke ever...
It's about time!

Hi Pen,

Here is a story to see if you understand your limits.

A mathematician and an engineer agreed to take part in an experiment. They were both placed in a room and at the other end was a beautiful naked woman on a bed. The experimenter said every 30 seconds they would be allowed to travel half the distance between themselves and the woman. The mathematician said, "this is pointless" and stormed off. The engineer agreed to go ahead with the experiment anyway. The mathematician exclaimed on his way out "don't you see, you'll never actually reach her?". To which the engineer replied, "so what? Pretty soon I'll be close enough for all practical purposes!"

You can see why they call border collies eye dogs
