Hi Pen,

In the light of John's discovery, is the subject a 2014 movie or a 1985 song or something else?

It could be both!!!  >:D >:D >:D

I have an answer to your rebus provided the subject was a movie and position is important.

Here is an easy one from me.  It is a 1971 American revisionist western movie.

Hi Jack (& John!)

Sorry I seem to have inadvertently caused a bit of confusion   I was actually thinking about the song & hadn't realised there was a film with the same name!  I should have been more precise with my clues  ;D

I got your rebus & then double checked it with Ms Google to make sure ;)

Hi Pen,

You were right. The weather has improved for the weekend.

I have now watched 3 episodes of Signorina Volpe and have enjoyed each one.  She is a mixture of James Bond and Miss Marple.

Today’s rebus is a famous palindrome.

#4   #3   #1   #3   #1   #3   #4

Conceptually one line.  Only Pictures 1 and 6 are NOT homophones.
Picture 1. Think rank.
Picture 2. You need the nickname of this Apple legend.
Picture 4. This is one time you don’t sound the “h”
Picture 7.  Substitute “ah” for “oh”

Hi Jack

Good to know I was right   We're having a very heatwave at the moment.  It's 25oc today & they're forecasting 28oc for next week :(  Probably just a warm summers day for you!

I'm pleased you enjoyed Signorina Volpe - think you summed it up perfectly :)  I've got the third one to watch.  It's a toss up between that & McDonald & Dodds this evening. As I have half a bottle of pink Pinot Grigio plonk in the fridge perhaps I'd better watch the retired spy >:D

Your rebus is a real corker :)  It took Zoe & I quite a while to figure it out.

My rebus is also a palindrome.  Not as tricky as yours but I'll give it a bash.

Please change the first letter of the first picture & pretend it's all on one line.

Leave you with this ;D

Hi Jack

Another scorcher - phew! Not a breath of wind :(  I went for a walk in the woods this morning but, unfortunately, that did involve me having to get in the car which was like an oven!  The steering wheel was so hot I could barely touch it!  I managed to park in the shade so the drive home wasn't so bad.  I've been skulking inside since lunchtime

Here's a very simple easy peasy puzzle.  It was my first thought when I looked at John's idiom :-R

#3 #3 #2 #3 #7

THE
Please reverse the letters in the first picture & lose the last letter of the second.  You need the title of the gent with the dog collar & use three of the letters!  All on one line please.

Here's a little clip of Simon's Cat :)
Smitten

Got to make some sarnies for tomorrow's lunch.  Leave you with this :)

Have you watched McDonald & Dodds?  It's set in Bath & is quite entertaining.

Hi Pen,

You were right about Agatha Raisin. I watched another episode and was totally unimpressed.

I watched the first episode of Series one of McDonald and Dodds and enjoyed it.  I am looking forward to watching episode 2.

I watched McCabe and Mrs Miller.  I can see why the guys on the radio praised it as a worthwhile movie and was probably a very realistic portrayal of the period.  However, from my viewpoint it was totally unenjoyable, had no characters I could warm to, and an ending that was as miserable as the whole story.

Dusty went home today and although his visit added a bit to our workload, we were a little sad to see him go.  His family had a great time down at the Gold Coast.

The palindromes went down well, so here is another one.

Conceptionally one line. Location is important.

Picture 1.  You’re looking for a descriptive adjective.
Picture 4.  Where these guys call home.

I'm a new poster, although I've been reading this thread since Les started it.  I really enjoy the challenge of the rebuses, but I solve maybe 50 percent of them.  And I've get a word document where I have copied many of the cartoons to send to my daughter and sisters.

Anyway, what prompted me to reply is weather related.  I live in central Texas, and today our temperature topped out at 110 F (43 C).  That's our highest so far this summer, but August and early September are generally our hottest months.  I'll probably opt out of golf this week and next week we're headed out of the country to someplace that we hope is cooler.

I probably won't be posting often, but I wondered if anyone can top Texas temperatures?

Hi PJune,
Welcome to the forum, you lurker you,  ;) ;) ;)
I live in Melbourne, Australia and from the Wiki page I found this:

January 2009 – A heatwave results in a record three successive days over 43 °C (109 °F). This is closely followed by Melbourne's hottest day on record on 7 February, when the temperature reaches 46.4 °C (115.5 °F) in the CBD. This same heatwave triggers the Black Saturday bushfires, the worst in Australian history.

Mind you, since then we had the Black Summer bushfires of 2019/2020  :P :P :P

Hi PJune

I know exactly how hot you are feeling and I would not play golf either

My small town in South Australia has reached 48.2c and it was not the hottest
place in the state

Keep cool
