Hi Pen and Linda,

Dusty had a sleepover here last night and I have been on shush (or should that be shoosh) patrol since 5 am (your 7pm) and have just got to your posts.

Linda, there is no need to message me.  I could only get a couple off the top of my head, but my job is to publish the spoiler alerts and so I have no scruples about using google to the full extent to achieve that.  If I run into any problems I will message you.

Pen, you could also have used Craig Stadler as the first picture in your rebus.

I won’t be able to issue the spoiler alerts until later today here as I have an early morning appointment to have an ultrasound and get some blood tests but I should be able to manage it by the time you are waking up there.
Regards, Jack

SPOILER ALERT -  Linda’s Christmas Book Quiz

This was harder than I thought it was going to be, even using google.   So I will publish my feeble attempt and update it when Linda messages me the right answers for those I have got wrong.  In the meantime, feel free to message me with suggestions.

SPOILER ALERT – Pen’s new also very clever rebus

Hi Pen,

I am losing it.  I was sure I posted this before I went to bed last night. Apparently not so.

Blue got work in a music shop.  At lunchtime, he hung out a sign, “Gone Chopin, Bach in a minuet.”

Blue went to a fancy dress party last night covered in custard and cream. But when he got there it wasn’t due to start for another hour.  He said to the host “Sorry, I’m a trifle early”

The place today is a Queensland city preceded by one of its suburbs.

Picture 1&2. Overlap

Picture 4.  Sounds like.

I’ve not looked at 7-by-many since yesterday afternoon so I must go and rectify that.

P.S. When I previewed this I noticed picture 1 was too small to make the point.  Here it is enlarged.

I am pretty sure I didn't hit the remove button.  One of life's little mysteries. It's lucky I hadn't deleted the word file I constructed the post in

Never to be solved   The others are right Jack - the post was definitely there :)

I'm having a very busy Monday morning.  Thankfully it's nearly lunchtime :-H
(Linda if you haven't been sacked it's cheese & tomato with a little of our favourite condiment >:D  Did I dream it or did you say you don't work Mondays any more?  Silly old brain :-R)

You're right!  I wish I'd have thought of that - Barry White's a bit obvious.

Hopefully

after lunch  ;D

I'm Back Jack!

Don't know how the afternoon's going to shape up but I'll start this post & see how I go.

I have another poem for you today. It was written in the 19th century.
#3 #4 #5 #2 # 7 (#3 + #4)

THE
Please change the last letter of the first word.  There's every possibilty that I've used this before but I've searched & if I have it's not been in the last 2 or 3 years!

Where did Napoleon keep his armies...?
up his sleevies!

What's the difference between an angry P T Barnum & Julius Caesar's barber...?
ones a raving showman & the other's a shaving Roman!

Leave you with a couple of extremely naff jokes ;D

If life gives you lemons, add a large gin & some tonic...

G'day Jack

Another bitterly cold day here brrr!  Lots of scraping of windscreens again.  Safe to say winter's well & truly arrived.

I was a bit short of bright ideas today so I thought I'd try another hamlet as a rebus.  It's not a million miles away from my seasonal offering the other day :)  I think you'll find this rather easy peasy!

Hi Pen,

How am I supposed to recognise the New Zealander in your first picture when he was almost in nappies? >:D

My rebus is a palindrome.

#5  #2  #4

Picture 1. She ran the joint.
Picture 2.  What it sounds like if you remove the first letter.

Conceptually one line

I'm having another busy day Jack!  I enjoyed your post & your clever rebus.  Cheered up my day ;)

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any pictures of the Kiwi gent that weren't easily recognisable ;D  Even when he was just an infant

Short interlude over - back to the grindstone!
