Oooh Jack. No more books for me...please. Don't even tempt me. I too read on Kindle and frequent the Cleveland Library...physically to pick-up and return...electronically to request/hold. They also have some ebooks available.
The Rotary shed is in Ormiston, behind the scout den, on the corner of Gordon and Bainbridge Streets. There is a hole in the wall to drop individual books or they're open on Thursday mornings for "bulk" drop offs. Run by Capalaba Rotary in conjunction with Cleveland Scouts.

A 1957 film, which, like so many made about that time, would probably not be shown today for fear of charges of 'political incorrectness'.
Also the title song, sung by a man, one of the stars of the film, who can only be described as 'a legend'

four words = 6/2/3/3

Hi Pen,
Our lockdown ends at 6 PM, but Les must endure another day.  I guess that is the price you pay for living in the centre of town rather than out in the boondocks. :D

My rebus today is the first line of a poem published shortly after WWI.  The main message of this poem is that it is not "sweet and fitting to die for one's country”.

#4  #6,  #4   #3   #7  5  #5

The first two words are on line 1.  The next 5 words are represented on lines 2 and 3.

More hints if you really need them

Hi Pen,

I'll give you a bit of light stuff while I am trying to think of a rebus.

Did I ever tell you about Blue’s first date with Sheila?  It's 1961 and he is going to take her dancing?

Blue knocks on Sheila’s door.  Her dad opens it and invites him in.

"So, you're taking our Sheila to her first dance?" he asks, sternly.

Blue nervously stutters "y-yes sir."

"She'll be down in a sec. But let's have a chat while we wait."

Blue slumps in the nearest chair, waiting for the inevitable talk.

"There's something you need to understand about Sheila," her dad continues.

"She loves to screw. I cannot count the times we've caught her screwing. If she had her way, she would screw all night and never stop. Do you understand?"

Blue nods dumbly, unable to believe his luck. Then Sheila comes down the stairs, and the young couple head out for their date.

A few minutes later  a red-faced Sheila walks back in and says "TWIST dad, it's called the TWIST."

More hints if you really need them

Hi Jack

You've been very busy today - have been using your last few hours of lockdown productively?  My compliments on 2 cracking posts & a very tricky rebus.  I did resort to the extra hints!  The cartoons & Blue made me howl with laughter!  I got Mike's rebus reasonably quickly but yours took me longer.

Boondocks tickled me   I'd never heard it before so had to consult Ms Google.

I'm off to B's this afternoon so I'm just doing a quick post before lunch. My rebus is a film from the 1940's. Don't think it'll give you a headache.

THE
You probably wont know who the gent is in the last picture but hopefully you'll have solved it by then anyway!

I almost won the National Cat Fancy Dress competition until the judges noticed a tiny piece of my costume was missing...
I was a whisker away!

I punched & destroyed one side of a pentagon...
now it's a wrecked angle!

Time for lunch :-H

My rebus is a film from the 1940's.

Great film;
unfortunately in the 1960s they tried to turn it into a sitcom which was totally dire.
And the guy in the final picture? Legendary!

Oh Mike I'd totally forgotten that - it was a dreadful sitcom :(
You're right about the guy in the last picture - legendary :)  I wasn't sure if he ever made it to Jack's neck of the woods!

Hi Pen and Mike,

My Word, I was a fan of his too.  On radio even before TV.

I disagree about the Sitcom, I enjoyed it. Even watched all the replays.  That was in the last century and I was a simple lad in those days.   Now, I am a simple old man. :D

However, having now read the precis and noting the actors in the original film while I was preparing the spoiler alert, I can see why you would be disappointed by the TV effort.

Very clever!
...and I'm not Lying'!
And an even cleverer way of letting me know you had solved the rebus.
