Forum Preview Panel
« on: June 29, 2007, 05:11:02 PM »
I'm thinking of putting a box next to the Chihuahua puzzle that would show a summary of recent posts to this forum. Have a look at the attached image.

It would be to the right of the scoreboard, and would list the latest five topics to have messages posted in them. You could click on a topic to open it up in a new window.

It might make things a little easier for us forumites, because we could keep an eye on what's happening on the forum while we play. The information would be updated whenever you click on the refresh button in the corner. It would also give the forum a higher profile to other Chi players.

Possible disadvantages? All I can think of is that it makes the page look more cluttered, and might be a distraction to a new player trying to get the hang of the game.

Please let me know what you think of this idea.

Hi Alan ... I think it sounds like a v. good idea just so long as the page doesn't look too 'messy'  ... sure you can sort it if anyone can!!!  >:D

Hi [again] VIRAL,
Here here..to what Linda said...
We might get lots of new forumiters...and then the fun will really start...there will never be enough hours in the day to catch up on unread posts....
and not enough time to play....
But i think it is a terrific idea..and worth giving a shot...you can always get rid of it if it doesn't pan out to your satisfaction...
You and your brainwaves VIRAL...a positive tsunami going on in your head...

The only problem i can foresee is...for example...
If someone clicks on 'good morning' and finds they are in the middle of a war of words on the correct way to eat scones...
OR
they click on 'Pants' only to read a barage of pro's and con's of thongs/G strings..
OR
Tennis...only to read Linda and myself having a verbal handbag fight over who is going to hold Rafa's equipment whilst having a toilet break...[as if...if only..i wish..]

Narmal any confused be person would very...think don't you???

LINDA....what are you saying???....the flood gates will open now..and the torrent is heading straight for your door...and serves you right.... >:(

I'm as happy as a pig in .... well you know the rest of the saying I'm sure!  T has told you what clotted cream is and it's v. delish but v. fattening ... take no notice of her when she says you must drink tea with it ... coffee for me every time!
If you had seen Rafa playing yesterday you'd know why we've come over all unnecessary!!!  Sex on a stick!  Yes, please!  >:D

Yes, I saw the clotted cream part in the other post (after I'd already done this one)  --- Lordy, it's all just a-hoppin' and a-poppin' on the ole forum this morning.

You're halfway answering on one thread, and here comes another reference to it on the opposite side! Whooooooooooooh! T's right - this thing is going CRAAAAAAAAAAAAAZY!

GLAD EVERYONE'S FEELING FITTER TODAY!

Alan Hi ..

Will it mean that we can click on the posted topic and it will take us immediately to it ??? or is it just to show us that a topic has been posted.

If its the former - then it sounds a great idea.

Good to see you again, MM!

Hope the weather's better where YOU are, and it's smooth sailing!

Because between here, Oz and the YUK (as T calls it), some of us have had enuf storms... alas, looks like we're still in for more! ;)
