Someone should remind me of the rules for acronyms (which I could probably find myself if I weren't so lazy).  I wonder if a case could be made for BIOS (computerese for Basic Input Output System).  Just a thought.

I think the reason is that BIOS is - for whatever reason - written in capitals, whereas other acronyms such as 'scuba' and 'radar' aren't.
