food drive
« on: April 05, 2016, 12:41:48 PM »
It's not enough to make toys for the needy.  That does some good for the attitude and it's good for the soul, but it's really not enough.  It's rather embarrassing that some people go hungry in this land of plenty.

I am putting together another food drive.

The last one was rather dismal.  We only fed 500 (estimated).  Better than nothing, but we really need to do better.  That was less than a drop in the bucket.  I need to learn from previous mistakes and try to do better.

No, I am not asking Forumites for money or anything else.  Alan would frown on that, and rightly so.  I'm just telling you what I will be up to in the near future, as an uplifting story.  At least we can hope that it's uplifting.

What are we without hope?  Hopeless?

Good luck mate , hope you find the support your looking for.
Even if you only manage to feed one needy person then it will still have been a great success.

I would suggest that the people who were assisted in your last effort would have been pretty happy with your work.

Good luck.
And I thought I was playing Chi just for the words.

Five hundred is a lot of people - I would bet that they appreciate your efforts!  Good luck with this year's drive.

More accurately stated, this will be a team effort.

If I can paraphrase, we will get by with a little help from our friends.

We will see how the scheduling goes.

Tonight's news is that our guitarist (Sue) needs some back surgery.  The exact scheduling is not yet finalized.

That means the food drive might not happen this year.  I don't know.

The best laid plans can gang agley.  So can mine.
