PANTS to you...PANTS PANTS PANTS, thrice i say PANTS...
How can pants not be allowed? Pray, enlighten me..please..
When you get up in the morning and get dressed do you put on your 'pant' or your 'pants'...? [This is not personal to you..i speak generally!!]
When you go shopping for trousers[that's what we call them, but in the USA they don't]...do you say to the salesperson;
" Excuse me,I would like to look at some pant please...preferably black."
NO YOU DON'T...you smile  politely and say;
"Excuse me,I would like to look at some pants please..preferably black."
I, of course, don't say that at all...Thats only because i wear knickers and/or thongs....not that you need to know that...but i hasten to add i don't wear knicker..

Too Much Information!

T's post, though I agree with the "pants" thing totally, just gave me visuals that were much more than I could stand at 7 a.m. You know, I've always envisioned her as so prim and proper. The knickers reference was fine, but when she went to the thongs. WELL! That was TOO TOO MUCH!

They are also called 'G's or G strings...
But i do believe you are correct Viz..i believe that down under thongs are what we call flip-flops...
