Happy birthday, A! I hope your company gave you the day off today and that Mrs. A is treating you right. May your day be full of yummy things!

Whoops - missed another birthday - must check in more often, even when I'm being overwhelmed.

I hope it was a good one, a non-amos.  I suspect the food accompanying the celebrations was, especially if you cooked for yourself.

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone!  No days off, but at least nothing bad happened.

We went to lunch at a BBQ place.  We went there again tonight to celebrate my brother's birthday.

They always have very good food; their meats are extremely tender, juicy, cooked low and slow, with a nicely smoked flavor.  Their side dishes are every bit as good, if not better.  The cheesy potatoes are out of this world.

This restaurant is new to Roanoke; it opened a little over a month ago.  I found that they also have several locations in the Baltimore and D.C. area.

R.M. - They might have a location relatively close to you.  If the food there is as good as it is here, you might want to pay them a visit.  Come hungry; their servings are large.

Check out their locations (and menu) at www.mission-bbq.com.

Their Roanoke location is always very busy, but they keep the wait to a minimum (less than 10 minutes).  They call your name when your order is ready, so I had some fun with them; I ordered under an assumed name.

Everyone had a good laugh when the guy called out "Order up for Frodo Baggins!"
