what's wrong with "pernod"?

Alan, I ran across this word before and never asked before.

Why isn't "pernod" acceptable?  ???

It is defined as an anise or licorice-flavored liqueur. I've even seen it in stores. It may not be everyone's drink of choice, but it DOES exist!

Hey threeb,
Pernod is a brand name isn't it? The drink inside the bottle is as you say...but the brand name is Pernot..there are other anise drinks, like ouzo...so maybe thats why? who knows....VIRAL will tell you no doubt...

T's right, as usual....Pernod is the brand name....the actual drink is called Ricard Pastis.....so I've learned something too!   :D :D :D :D
