I wonder why 'philtre' was classed as common in yesterday's 'birthplace' 10-letter, while the N. American spelling 'philter' was rare?
Don't they go in for love-potions over there? Of course they do; the Coasters had a massive hit with 'Love-Potion Number Nine' all those years ago.
