« on: January 01, 2013, 12:37:39 AM »
To all the Australians now into January 1, and to everyone else following along behind, I just wanted to
wish all a happy, satisfying, productive and prosperous 2013.

Hope there aren't too many hangovers amongst the partygoers!!

Happy New Year to you all! Wishing everybody 365 nights of restful and uninterrupted sleep. My first night was curtailed by a drunken daughter needing a ride home from her festivities :-P A least she didn't attempt to drive her car in that condition  :-C
Would have been nicer if the call didn't come at 4.36 am though.

Happy New Year, and best wishes to all for a healthy uneventful one.  Thanks, but I'd rather not live in interesting times - had enough last year.

Well I certainly hope all of you forumites get off to a better 2013 start than I have: I've just been told that I've got to have the middle lobe of my right lung removed. Fabulous!

Pat, how ghastly for you!!  That sounds like a very heavy duty operation.

Oh Pat how dreadful.  Do you have to wait long for the operation?  Hope you soon get it over and done with.  Nothing worse than having to wait and worry for ages.  I also hope you make a speedy recovery.  Love Penny

Thanks for the good wishes y'all (!)

I'd been having annual follow-up scans after a rare type of primary liver cancer that I last had 9 years ago. All clear for 9 years and then a bombshell. The lung surgeon says the tumour in my lung (which is thankfully very small) is most likely a metastasis, even after 9 years. Unfortunately it's quite deep inside the lung which means that I've got to have the full rib-spreading op rather than the much newer keyhole type of op. Nevertheless I'm thankful that it's operable; I firmly believe that cutting out tumours is the best way of effecting a cure. I won't know until it's analyzed if I'll need chemo or not.

I've been told that I'll get the operation this month, Penny.
