Spoiler - 30 April standard

I hate it when that happens!!

Deglanding is a process that is used in the cotton industry to separate the cottonseed oil (quite valuable) from the husk (not very valuable).  I used to work with the cotton industry and it's an old and established practice.  Older members here might recall using cottonseed oil on their sewing machines.  Deglanded seed is used as packing material, soil aerator or landfill.

Deglanding is also a process by which you can keep ferrets as pets, without them stinking up the house.  An American friend once told me that her friend had a deglanded skunk, but that the house still stank.  I don't know why you would have a pet skunk, but it takes all types to make a world.

So I'm peeved that the 9 letter word was not deglanded!

However, I'm even more peeved that I did get it a minute one minute after I tried and failed with deglanded.   >:(
