suggested word: intel
« on: March 01, 2007, 02:30:33 PM »
I am not referring to the name of the large corporation.  I am referring to the abbreviation for intelligence, as in army intel or business intel.

Thanks!

As usual, your suggestion is valid. Apart from the definitions you linked to, I also found in the Oxford Dictionary:

Quote
intel
→ noun
[mass noun] [often as modifier] (Military, informal) military intelligence; information.
- ORIGIN 1980s: abbreviation.

I'll add "intel" next time I update the word list.
