Good old T. Comes on once in a while, responds to all the threads and still manages to seek out the newbies.

Welcome from me, too, 2 tanners. Perhaps you're a man who goes by the name of Bob? (For all non-UK forumites, a bob was a slang term for a shilling (12 old pence) and a tanner was a slang name for a sixpence.)

Or maybe two members of the family working as a team?  In any case, welcome aboard!  Hope to hear from you often.

Hi Pat
Have been absent for a couple of days and have only just found this thread.  My name is Penny (Penelope really!) and I have been called all sorts over the years! (not all of it repeatable in polite company!)  Halfpenny, tuppence and even 2 farthings! Also, Lady Penelope and an old boss of mine used to always call me Penlop! I loved the old money.  Remember the threepenny bit?

Bloomin' 'eck!  It took me *months* to get a rosette, and I've only ever had 3....

I do indeed remember the 3d bit, Hobbit. Although I can honestly claim not to be old enough to remember the farthing. No doubt penny-farthing is one of the names you've been called!

Dear 2 tanners, er, Bob?

LOVE your name! My husband is Robert, and now I'll have a new nickname for him.

Where do you live, if I may ask? Chi players are a global phenomenon!

PS: congrats on your speedy attainment of a rosette!
