It was so pleasurable to think that somewhere in the world, there were people who were not stuffy and full of pomposity.

Well surely all you need to to do is look to the apper clarse toffs of England, birdy!!!

 ;D

To the what?!?! I get upper class...but toffs? ???

Hi anonsi ... long time no hear!!  Hope you got some scented coathangers for Crimbo!!

In British English slang, a toff is a mildly derogatory term for someone with an aristocratic background, particularly someone who exudes an air of superiority.

... some of the nicest people I know speak with an upper class accent and certainly do not exude an air of superiority.  Good and bad in all walks of life, I suppose!  >:D

Oh, and of course there's also the thing where if you type the complete lyrics of the Australian national anthem in reverse, you get a trophy.

I was thinking Alan wanted this:

.riaf ailartsuA ecnavdA
,gnis su tel neht sniarts lufyoj nI
.riaf ailartsuA ecnavda oT
enibmoc lla su tel egaruoc htiW
,erahs ot snialp sseldnuob ev'eW
saes eht ssorca emoc ev'ohw esoht roF
,sdnal eht lla fo denwoneR
sruo fo htlaewnommoC siht ekam oT
,sdnah dna straeh htiw liot ll'eW
,ssorC nrehtuoS tnaidar ruo htaeneB

.riaf ailartsuA ecnavdA
gnis su tel neht sniarts lufyoj nI
,riaf ailartsuA ecnavdA
egats yreve tel egap s'yrotsih nI
,erar dna hcir ytuaeb fO
stfig s'erutan ni sdnuoba dnal ruO
:aes yb trig si emoh ruO
,liot rof htlaew dna lios nedlog ev'eW
eerf dna gnuoy era ew roF
eciojer su tel lla snailartsuA

To me that is mirrored text. Very clever though, and I am glad to see you got your trophy. lol  :D
BTW Did you use a program to do that or did you actually type it out? I am also curious about the upside down text, I wasn't aware such a thing could be done on the forums.

Neither was I, and I still don't know how it was done. Are you going to let us in on your secrets, TRex?

No secret. I entered 'reverse text generator' into Google and found
Reverse Text Generator

(I'm not so daft as to do that manually!)  :D

Good job, and thanks for the link.
It may help with ambigrams.
Usually when creating an ambigram I use thick black texta on thin paper so that I can see it from both sides. I recently created one for my nephews engagement. It says Rachel heart James on one side and when reflected in a mirror or turned to show the back it says James heart Rachel. It is as yet unfinished, but will be made of a wooden cut out on a rotating base.
I don't have a pic of my work, but here is a link to the original inspiration http://rumplo.s3.amazonaws.com/images/tees/0000/1372/1372-0.jpg

Ambigrams was a new one on me -- so like the geek I am, I did some searching and reading. Very interesting. Some of the ambigrams are fascinating.

I'd never heard of them until they featured in the Dan Brown novel - I think it was Angels & Demons.  I was fascinated by them.  Am very impressed by anyone who can actually create them. Love to see a pic of your finished work, Ilandrah.

Thanks cb, I am rather flattered. I am not sure how long it will take me to get around to finishing it off, but will certainly try to keep in mind to post it here.
They are a great little puzzle for the old grey cells.
