What if I said sorry three times, and each of those sorries were rebuffed....

I didn't try this one, but I agree it should be admitted to the list. There seems to be fairly wide usage of this word out on the internet.

The Shorter Oxford says sorry can be used as a noun meaning "An utterance of 'sorry' in apology etc." This usage is labeled rare, and examples of the word sorries in books do seem to be infrequent.

Still, I think the usage is well-enough established that we ought to accept sorries in future, cb.
