unwanted spam
« on: December 23, 2008, 09:56:18 PM »
Why are we suddenly being bombarded with unwanted spam??????  I may have missed something, but I don't recall the forum being targeted in the past, the way it has been recently.  Most annoying.  How do we get rid of them?

There have been a couple of similar incidents before, GEO. When I notice this kind of nuisance, I ban the member and delete their posts, so there's not much trace of them left afterwards.

They're not particularly targeting us. If you look for "Giftata" in a search engine, you'll probably find that their messages have been infiltrated into all manner of public forums.

Seems to me that  SPAM  is a   "way of life"  now that we are in the age of cyberspace.

To me,  SPAMMERS  are like naughty michievous brats who are trying to create a
B I G     N U I S A N C E.

This is about the third instance of   SPAM  on the Forum in the past month or two.  I guess it should not be a surprise since it is the season for  MARKETING.  I'd rather it be the season for  GIVING  of oneself to others.
