I'd just like you all to know that my friend Rutabaga, who is currently leading the pack, is a native French speaker; she has lived all her life in France, except for a year abroad in England many years ago. I consider that completely amazing. Her verbal skills are second to none.

That's often the case with foreign English speakers -- sadly, many of us get lazy, and certainly do not approach the knowledge of our language that we should. Not to mention mastery of other languages. Hats off to your French amie -- although I find the choice of her online name a bit curious!  ;D

That's odd, because I would have expected a Rutabaga to be a Swede.

Seriously though, well done, R. I studied French at school, but when I glanced at a French Scrabble word list there weren't many I could recognise.

Good one Alan! Don't know why she ignores the forum. It's the best bit.
