"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely...."

John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, first Baron Acton (1834–1902)

The more things change...the more they stay the same

Hey AQ...you kind of put it a bit better than I did...

I was watching a doco on the life of JC in which it was said that they had no way of knowing exactly when JC was born - some time after the event they just 'drew a line in the sand'.

They could have just as easily drawn this line at any arbitrary point.

I sometimes wonder what JC would make of what has been done over the centuries in his name...

no I don't...working backwards, this would imply that JC was aged 1 on the day he was born

Hey AQ,

Happy NY to you...I hope you have an absolute cracker. Apart from me, you certainly deserve it.

One small point though, and as you seem to be a very analytical kind of dude I trust you won't mind me pointing it out...but, it ain't quite the end of the decade.

Hey T, happy NY to you too...aliens did in fact swoop down a few days before Xmas, but most forumates were safe...the aliens were only after sexy, goodlooking dudes. I'm a bit sore after the experience, but wouldn't have missed it. Although it's not the sort of thing I'd voluntarily participate in again - I have this thing with heights you know...
