Yes a big hello from Canberra - the capital of Australia. Not sure where you hail from, but it’s lovely to have a new member join in the conversation. So Bonjour, Ciao and G’day from someone with wobbly bits!!

Whilst on this topic, when I look at my personal statistics, I wonder what is the difference in the categories of Rosettes and Common Words? My statistics for each them are very different but I would have thought that they are the same thing?
If you find all the common words you get a rosette, so why would they not be close or identical?

Wow given the status of the EAVES discussion, I’m thrilled to have a change on GLYPH from common to rare so quickly!

As for POLYTHEISM, as I said, I should have found it through a process of elimination, so if it stays common then that’s cool too.

You’re still ruminating on it Alan? If you do make a ruling, no one will call it hasty!

Words / Glyph and Polytheism
« on: October 18, 2021, 04:43:15 PM »
Two apparently common words I’ve recently missed. Polytheism was the seed word two days ago in the ten letter puzzle.
I suppose I should have got it from a process of elimination, but gee whiz, I’ve never heard anyone say it, to my knowledge I’ve never read the word so on the average man in the street/pub test, it’s a far cry from common.

And as for glyph, again another word I drew a blank on in yesterday’s standard game. Hieroglyph is about as close as I’ve come to the word.
I’m not having a big whinge just having a muse. More words to add to my vocabulary!!

Well I didn’t know what it meant so I looked it up and I can certainly say I’ve been on the end of it a few times!
When our relatively new Skoda (3 years old) stopped dead in its tracks, I asked the young fellow at the dealership what was wrong, and rather than tell me it was a world wide problem with the mechatronic in the engine, he said “It’s complicated.”
Fortunately the female manager at head office was more forthcoming and filled me in, got us a hire care for the six weeks it took to fix and had a word to the local dealership!

Dear Yelnats, I don’t like words bastardised like this. I understand that words, like selfie, sometimes evolve very quickly, but it doesn’t mean I like it!
