I tried this, too. Thought it might be a rock through the window with a message attached to it!

Well, if the decanter was lead crystal, you wouldn't want to leave the port in it very long at any rate. You were smart to drink it down, gout or not.

I studied Spanish for three years in high school and remember enough that I can use it at perhaps the same level as Birdy's sister.  The presence of a signficant Hispanic population Inside the Beltway has allowed me to keep up my skills.  I can read it pretty well and understand newscasts, but other types of TV shows leave me mystified sometimes.  Pretended to take Russian for two years in college.  I can read the alphabet and remember a few words, that's it.  I can read some French and German, but writing and speaking are out of the question.  I have a smattering of Dutch, mostly what can be found in old church records and 19th century civil registrations.

Somewhere in my many stacks of stuff, I own this game, I'm pretty sure.  Can't hunt for it just now, but I can probably come up with it in a day or two.

The Rogue Daughters are back from Norway.  Here is #2's review of the Roomba:

We do still use a Roomba, currently a 5th generation model, which I
think is what is still in the stores right now.

Emptying the dust bin depends on the size of the area cleaned and how
heavy the foot traffic gets. In our studio apartment, with an area of
about 500 sq ft and very high foot traffic, I think we empty the bin
about once every three days, where the Roomba runs once every day. For
a larger area like what we had in the townhouse, we emptied the bin at
least every other day, sometimes every day.

The other concern is hair getting trapped on the roller brushes, just
like you get with regular vacuums. So if the dogs shed a lot, and they
(or anyone else in the house) have long hair, it will probably require
using the provided brush cleaning tool to remove hair from the brushes
a couple times a week. However this cleaning tool is very quick and
easy to use.

Unless you vacuum the house before running the Roomba for the first
time, it will probably need a few passes right in a row with frequent
bin emptying before it can run normally.

The thing we like best, which may trump everything else, is that [Dog]
doesn't seem to mind the Roomba. He goes ballistic around regular
vacuums, but when the Roomba is running he is very calm, and barely
seems to care even if it bumps into him.

I don't know anyone who uses the singular word dreg.  My opinion is that this was the listmaker's way of having a common word that is more usual in the plural without actually allowing it in the plural form.  Just like jean in the standard puzzle the other day.  Who on earth uses jean in the singular?

Will do!  The Rogue Daughters are in Norway at the moment, but I will check with #2 in a couple of days, after she gets back to New York.

Rogue Daughter #2's boyfriend has a Roomba to keep up with the dog hair from his Sheltie, which sheds prolifically, used it for a few years now.  I don't know how often he has to empty it, but I doubt it is hourly.

I'm sure the reason loonies isn't accepted is the usual reason for words of this type -- the singular form loonie is acceptable.  Loony is probably the more common spelling for "crazy person."  Loonie is a common slang word for the Canadian dollar coin, since it has a picture of a loon on it.

When you toss in the social interaction, which researchers also say is important for staving off Alzheimer's, you have a real two-fer!

I'm an enforcer, too, but it's not an "oh, dear!" moment for me.  This is probably the best description for me out of the six categories.  I am the oldest of six children and have honed this role over a lifetime.  Each of the six categories have strengths and weaknesses, but I can't help but feel that I have been preached to.  I'm thinking that the people who designed this test are Teachers.

I'm with Threeb on this one.  I have absolutely never heard of moggy or moggie.  And while not a hag, I am most definitely a cat lover.

I'm with Bobbi here.  I've heard semiotic, not semic.
