Whatever / Re: your local attractions?

And as I mentioned in another thread, Birdy, you are a wonderful guide and host, as I found out last fall!

However, I will warn anyone wanting a "walking" tour of NYC, you'd better have excellent footwear and be fit enough to cover a lot of ground. It was so much fun, with great views and terrific history lessons. Being a former resident of the Big Apple, I still saw many places I had never visited -- it's a big town and I left in my late 20s -- mannnnnnny years ago -- with only one return in 1990. Things sure have changed since then -- for the better I must say. I can't wait to go back again.

Oh, Linda -- you crack me up!! I've missed your smart wit and stories you tell. How is your son, BTW? I bet he's become quite the grownup now. Do continue to encourage your hubby to keep playing the lottery, and congratulations on his windfall, which is no mean feat. I've been playing for years -- nay, decades now -- and have barely scraped up enough altogether to buy a dinner for two at Olive Garden!

Thanks, Birdy -- it really was nice to meet an "actual" person who I thought I knew, until I found out, you were even better than the online version. I'm sure it would be the same with lots of our forumites -- like Linda or Alan, Hobbit, Pat, R-M, or others here. I would sure love the idea of a reunion, and Australia would be a dream -- then hop on over to England and Scotland, I've got at least one other friend there from FB who actually had lived in our area some time ago. Let's win that lotto, folks -- c'mon, someone's bound to, if we all play it right!

Sorry, no pictures of us, folks. Birdy was very shy that way, I couldn't get a good shot. I posted a bunch from the trip on Facebook, but later, my camera drowned in a river in Pennsylvania. Too funny, really. Too sad, as well. Anyway, Linda, enjoy your wonderful anniversary trip -- I know you will love Rome. I did. Also I visited Florence, which is also very romantic -- remember, DAVID is there!!

Just wanted to let our forumites know what a great host our regular, birdy, was to me on my trip to the east coast! Made me walk my butt off, touring the lower east side, Brooklyn and the 9/11 memorial! Birdy, you were magnificent -- treated me to breakfast, crossed the Brooklyn bridge, and enjoyed the beautiful views and weather. Thanks again, birdy -- YOU ROCK!

Belatedly, and with apologies, wishing you a great birthday -- hope it was wonderful, RM. My mobile hotspot was out of order and other options were limited to play chi all week.

Well, you're not the common person, either, birdy!  >:D

I know people will be offended by this word, but I believe it should be allowed, as are its variants. (If you don't know them, look them up, because I don't really want to repeat them in public more than what I wrote here.). So the dilemma - if it is socially unacceptable, will it still be technically acceptable in chi word list???

As seen in Dictionary.com --

nigĀ·ga  /ˈnɪgə/  [nig-uh] Usage note. Nigga is used mainly among African-Americans, but also among other minorities and ethnicities, in a neutral or familiar way and as a friendly term of address. It is also common in rap music. However, nigga is taken to be extremely offensive when used by outsiders. Many people consider this word to be equally as offensive as nigger. The words niggerand niggaare pronounced alike in certain dialects, and so it has been claimed that they are one and the same word.noun Slang: Usually Disparaging and Offensive. a black person.

Now that we have returned to GMT, I would just like to thank Alan for adjusting the puzzle changeovers ... and adapting the clock on the puzzle. Therefore, the puzzle that began yesterday at 3 a.m. (Central Standard Time USA) now begins at 2 a.m. GENIUS!

As someone who learned piano, I enjoyed for years listening as my father played the piano, and mother sang! You are giving your daughter a lovely gift she will cherish forever!
