Alan Turing, one of the greatest of all the Codebreakers,  was prosecuted for being homosexual which, of course, was illegal in those days and eventually committed suicide.  I think he was only in his early 40's when he died.  Very sad.

He has just, finally, received a Royal Pardon.  About %$@#$ time.  We probably would not be conversing like this if it was not for his early work on computers - RIP Mr Turing, with our gratitude!!

But what I liked about your post, city17 dweller, is that you took up the defence of someone else, and I do find that there is generally a generous and kindly spirit to most goings on on Chi, in contrast to the event referred to.

Same here, though not as long as two years ago (haven't been playing that long), never seen anywhere else.  Coda was my little b....r

I had no idea, so thanks mkenuk!!  I just went into a website and converted 1 litre (we only use metric in South Africa) and I see pints, quarts and gallons are all different for British and US measurements.  I actually always thought a quart was 2 litres but now see a bit more than 1 litre.  The more you learn
