Word Games / Re: Re-usable letters?

It's tricky to switch gears! I'm definitely not typing in words as quickly as I do with Chi. I'm liking the challenge so far.

3/10 and I had to guess on all of them! Loved the extra explanation that went with the correct answers.

So we should try to to keeps our posts shorter and more pithy – yeth I know I am probably the worst offender but I promise to improve,  This may encourage more people to contribute and appreciate.

I do appreciate the irony of your long-winded post - with bullet points!! - about the need to have shorter posts.

Plus you have to take into account all the time he spends researching our requests! I'm surprised he finds any time to play at all.  :D

anona, the date I posted was for Chi. The date you mention is the registration date for the forum. The forum wasn't available until even after registration on Chi began.

Since Les asked about the "player that has been continuously registered," I assumed he meant for the game itself and not the forum. You can find a person's registration date for Chihuahua by clicking on their name in the Scoreboard.

Alan, if it is not to difficult or inappropriate, I am curious to know who is the player that has been continuously registered for the longest period of time since this games inception, my money is on the legend " rogue mother " (  of course, Alan, you are exempt )

Registration wasn't available when Alan first created the game. So there are several of us who have the same registration date. My registration date is 16 December 2006 (still can't believe it's been that long!). I think some may have an earlier date, though, because of differences in time zones. For example, Roberts has 15 December 2006 as his.

R_M's registration date is 12 July 2007.

When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

Other than this last sentence, it sounds like baseball.

I've heard that for people coming from other countries, the English language is the most difficult to learn?

I have a 2-year-old daughter, and she makes me realize all the time how tricky the English language can be. Two recent examples:

  • I was reading a Christmas story to her, and I said "Those are reindeer." She looked at me, very confused, and said "Dry." She thought I was saying rain deer, and was trying to tell me that they weren't wet at all.
  • Another time, we were looking at a snowman ornament on the tree. She pointed to his coal buttons and said "Bellybuttons!" Amused, I said "You're right; they do look like bellybuttons, but those are just buttons." She then proceeded to squeeze the snowman, thinking they were buttons to make it play a sound. "Ohhh. Not that kind of button either. They're buttons like on your shirt."

I'd give you a fifth, but I don't think it'd travel through the internet very well. Happy holidays!

Spackle is a very common word to me; never heard of polyfiller.

Apparently the use of the word nimrod to mean idiot may have come from Bugs Bunny: http://www.wideopenspaces.com/nimrod-great-hunter-idiot/

It's also the name of a Green Day album, and in a quote in Pulp Fiction.

I've never managed to find the word eland when it's playable in a Chi puzzle. It's not a word that I knew outside of Chi. I went to the zoo with my young daughter recently...Wouldn't you know it, there're some on display there!

The word echidna is familiar to me. That being said, I likely wouldn't find it in a Chi puzzle since its letters are not in a common pattern that my brain tends to look for when playing Chi.

They're exotic here!

Really? Are all finches exotic there or just the bullfinch? Finches are quite common here; especially the goldfinch which is our state bird.
