The Daily Quest / Re: It's always just one word!

Thanks for that, but it's actually part of what I do for a living.  One aspect of my job is to work on our intranet site.  We use mostly HTML coding for it, and don't use any programs such as Dreamweaver to help with the creation of pages.  So I'm v. familiar with this type of stuff.  Although, it is slightly different than HTML.

Yeah, well knowing T and her gift of the gab, it won't take long for her to get there.  I'm figuring another couple of days or so.  You better get working on that new title Alan!  (Or edit your post after the fact and say that you really meant 1500, or some such number.)  ;)

Whatever / Re: Cat people vs. Dog people
« on: June 07, 2007, 01:30:18 AM »
I've gotta stick up for the dogs...I love em.  They're loyal, cuddly, and generally kind to everyone.

Pretty much I think most cats are the  >:D.  Specifically one cat from when I lived with a roommate in college.  She (the devilcat) would walk innocently up to you and wind around your legs purring.  She would look so cute!  So the unsuspecting would reach down and let her sniff your hand.  I did this the first time I met the cat.  She started rubbing her head against my hand (generally the sign that you can then go ahead and pet them).  The instant I started to pet her she turned around and bit me and hissed at me as if I invaded her privacy first!  Because of this trait of hers...we decided to call her the stripper cat.  She can touch you, but you sure as **** better not touch her!

Another time, she was lying with my roommate on the couch for over an hour.  Then, as if out of boredom and just to see what would happen, she turned around and bit her on the hand so hard it drew blood!

Give me a dog anyday (well, so long as it is not one of those tiny, ugly, yippy ones).

Say Hello / Re: Is there anybody there??
« on: June 07, 2007, 01:20:43 AM »
For some reason, I think of Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb" every time I read the title of this thread:

Hello, hello, hello
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?

On the rare occasions where I see the message...I know it is mocking me.  It only reminds me that I have yet to receive even one rosette!

*@!$#!* last common word.

Word Games / Re: Mouse or Keyboard?

I'm with Linda, in that it's much faster to use the keyboard.  I can't imagine going back to using only the mouse!

Binks, I noticed your profile change as well...which is how the Sheila conversation came up. ;)

P.S.  We use "What do you reckon?" here too.

That's what I figured, Alan, but it's hard to tell when you've never been somewhere what's the truth, and what's just stereotype. ;)

Thanks for the clarification, Binks.  My name (Jessica) is fairly common, too, although not as common as Sheila appears to be for Aussies (or, so it seems, those from the UK).

Remember when T was still a newbie here?  Now she's leading the pack! :o

Hi Binks.  I've always wondered...is Sheila really your first name?   ???  Also, how many Sheilas do you know?  The stereotype I've always heard in the US is that all females in Oz are named Sheila...even if they're not.

Hi Alan - I see from the "Help" page that forum profiles can be changed to add new categories by administrators (you).  I know you've already done this once by allowing us to add our Chi name.  Could we have another category to allow us to say whatever we want to about ourselves, somewhat like we can on our Chi profiles?  For instance, BJS could have entered all of his information to his profile for LL to see.  She wouldn't have had to inquire about it and take up more forum space. ;)

Just a thought.
