Two causes of joy to start the new year:
Waking up this morning and reading all these lovely messages to Alan, all fully deserved, for creating something that has helped immensely through the awful days of 2020 and that will still be there to help us all face whatever 2021 and beyond may bring.
Talking of which: the other reason for joy? My partner (in a care home) got her first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on New Year's Eve. Stay safe, folks, there really is help on the horizon.

Don’t know if you can have a spoiler for a random puzzle, but here goes. This may have been asked before. Attaches as the 3rd person singular of attach is not known, presumably because it’s the simple plural of attache. But should it be allowed, and classed as common at that?
