Whatever / Re: How long have you been apart of lexigames?
« on: March 12, 2014, 03:22:23 PM »
6th December 2006. Wow, I had no idea how long it had been.
Also, if you click on a persons name either here or in the score panel of the puzzles, it will give you their profile information including registration date, but I like the idea of people posting it here.

I have been offline and so missed the puzzle under discussion. Having said that though, I also have no problems with expletives here -- words only have the power that we attribute to them. A word can not hurt you or harm you in any way unless you allow it to. It is simply a combination of letters, or an uttering of sounds.

I thought balloons were latex, and they can be, though apparently mylar balloons have superior duration. http://www.education.com/science-fair/article/do-mylar-balloons-last-longer-than-latex-balloons/ I guess my balloons are just cheap.  :(

Agreed, but I think it should be common not rare.

I am pretty sure that lap dance is two seperate words.

A bit of a thought in that direction Alan, could words added after the close be displayed in a different colour, such as gray to display that they are not counted towards the total score? I have seen similar faded responses used in other games, usually to indicate a repeated word or an excluded word, but it is fairly universal in my experience for words that do not count.

Say Hello / Re: Happy Birthday, Ilandrah!

Thannk you very much guys. I had a great day though it caused me to miss the puzzles. However, if I don't sleep too late I can get in twice tomorrow.
Unfortunately missed the peak Geminid meteor shower due to cloud cover, but what a treat to have it occur on my birthday in this apocalyptic year.  ;)

Some of the previous discussions of glute / glutes are here, here and here.

Also, I've noticed that nobody seems particularly concerned that none of the suggestions are being answered, so maybe all that's needed is a place for players to vent their frustrations.

I don't know so much about not being concerned that suggestions aren't addressed at all as not being concerned enough to make an issue of it.

It is working fine for me Alan. Had both open in seperate tabs and updating between the two worked without any issues.
Shame my brain isn't performing as well today.

What is it an acronym for TRex? It is not familiar to me and I am wondering if it should be.

Word Games / Re: eight-letter words without key letter

My personal grail, not yet ever having come near to geting a rosette, is to get at least one word beginning with each and every letter in the puzzle - I feel a great sense of achievement when I manage that!

I also do that. It helps to remember some really obscure words too.

Word Games / Re: Up and running again - I hope!
« on: October 19, 2012, 01:04:57 PM »
Thanks Alan.
I have tried all the steps mentioned and have updated my firefox. Java has also just released an update which I am getting right now.
Using chrome is no chore for me at all, and I am glad it is not a widespread issue. Having done some basic web administration I understand the issues that can arise with the myriad configurations users have on their computers and the challenge of making pages that will work within such a varied environment.
I am sure that it will resolve over time, if not I am happy enough using chrome, i am just glad not to miss my daily chi.  :)

Edit: The Java update appears to have fixed the problem.  ;D

Game is currently offline for me Alan, as at 4pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time). I am getting the page half loaded and then it stops. Definately not my connection - all other sites are working fine.
Firefox 16.0.1 appears to be the issue, the page has loaded for me using chrome. No idea on explorer.
