Whatever / What shall I do ?
« on: September 23, 2010, 01:53:51 PM »
Last night, my kids and I were sitting in the living room and I said to them, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug.'

They got up, unplugged the Computer, and threw out my wine.

They are SO on my shit list ...

Word Games / Mobile Chi
« on: June 03, 2010, 07:30:58 PM »
Hi Alan and everyone,

Its been a long time since I was last here - but I have already bought your book and I am looking to see if you eventually made your mobile chi-game.
This is what you wrote a while back....

I'm working on a mobile phone version, which I might offer for sale. And I have an idea for a stand-alone Chihuahua program, that people would install on their computer, which I would offer as a paid download. So, I do have a vague kind of pecuniary interest in the growth of the Chi/Lexigame community, in that its members might one day be potential customers for some products, if I ever get around to creating them. But in the main, what motivates me is probably the ego-gratification that anyone gets from doing work that other people appreciate.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Whatever / What did you want to be when you were growing up?
« on: July 17, 2007, 05:12:36 AM »
When my daughter was about 5 years old ... she decided that to be a  :police: is the best thing ... then whenever she parked her  :-C she wouldn't get a parking ticket.

Then when she was 10 years old .... she decided that the best thing to be is a surgeon ... so that she could open stomachs and feel around in all the goo and muck !!

Now she's 25 years old .... and she still hasn't decided what she's going to be when she grown up !!!

Does anyone remember what their dream was to become when they were young ?

Whatever / Divers Beware .....
« on: July 15, 2007, 03:22:19 PM »
I got this email the other day and had t post it so that we could all have a laugh:

Bad day at work???This is even funnier when you realize it's real! Next time you have a bad day at work, think of this guy. Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana. He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs. Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to a radio station in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won.
Hi Sue,Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother. Last week I had a bad day  at the office.I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all.
Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a few technicalities of my job.As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to the office. It's a wetsuit. This time of year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm is this:We have a diesel-powered industrial water heater. This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea, heats it to a delightful temperature, then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose which is taped to the air hose. Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've used it several times with no  complaints. What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wetsuit. This floods my whole suit with warm water. It's like working in a Jacuzzi. Everything was going well  until all of a sudden, my bum started to itch. So, of course, I scratched it. This only made things worse. Within a few seconds my bum started to burn!I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done.In agony I realized what had happened. The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit. Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn't stick to it. However, the crack of my bum was not as fortunate. When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my bum.I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator.  His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing hysterically.Needless to say I aborted the dive.I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totalling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface
to begin my chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet. As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub it on my bum as soon as I got in the chamber. The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poo for two days because my bum was swollen shut.
So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your ar*e.
Now repeat to yourself, I love my job, I love my job, I love my job.Remember whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this a jellyfish bad day?May you NEVER have a jellyfish bad day!!!!!LoveROB

Hope you have a great day   ;D ;D ;D

Alan ... just a small question:
Why are the forumites put last ? and the dreaded 8-legged insects first ? Are they more "important" than us ?

This Forum / New posts ???
« on: June 30, 2007, 02:40:46 AM »
Maybe I am just stupid - but is there a way of knowing - once you have entered the General Category and seen that there are "NEW POSTS" and you go into the category ... and then you don't know if you have actually read the new post.
I seen to find myself re-reading posts as it says there is a new post but there might be 3-4 topics which say "last post today" but I've already read 2 of them ....
Did I make myself clear ???    ??? ??? ???

Is it possible to re-arrange the forum postings - so that when we open a topic the last posting comes first.

Thanks

Since we have had the new shuffle option - is the percentage of words found higher now than before ?

I am sure that my percentage is much higher.

Hi there !!!

I don't know if you anyone has brought this subject up in the past ... but have you ever thought of a button that could jumble the letters around?

I'd like to hear your input on this.

Thanks
