« on: March 12, 2014, 01:37:27 AM »
I've been chatting to Pat and Rhino on another thread about this, heading off on an adventure, no Internet for about 6 months.  I thought I would be leaving next week, but been brought forward to tomorrow, so signing off tonight.  Will miss you guys and Chi so much!!  A friend is taking over my Internet connection, maybe she will join Chi ;D  Take care, one and all  :-C

I was reading about her on CNN - "Australia's Sarah Palin".  Oh boy ...

How long before You Tube produces a mash up of the two of them  ;D

This was in the submerged puzzle, but as rare.  I would consider it as common.  Anyone else?

Word Games / Oh Boy

I have a confession.  I am quite sure you will all be understanding, so here goes ...

Last night ... this is hard ... I, I ... I dreamt about playing *%$#@$ Chihuahua!!

Okay, feels better getting that off my chest, though the embarrassment is crippling :-[ :-[.

But this wasn't just ordinary day to day Chihuahua.  Every minute the letters would shuffle on the grid, so
just when I was getting somewhere it was like playing a new game.  It was crazy.

It was Chihuahua on crack  ;D ;D

Short version - I really need to get out more .. :-P

Whatever / Go Devon!!
« on: March 17, 2013, 02:59:27 AM »
Someone told me he was reading about a hearing coming up soon in mid Devon to fight against a proposal
to remove apostrophes from signboards to "avoid confusion" (translation: they use people who cannot spell
to design signboards).  Apparently there is quite a vociferous opposition to the idea.  Love it!!

Whatever / A Question
« on: January 03, 2013, 06:36:34 PM »
The South African matriculation (school leaving) results have just been released and over 70% passed.  However, in order to pass you need to pass 6 subjects - 3 at 40% and 3 at 30%.  How does this compare to the UK, USA, Australia, New Zealand, etc?

Whatever / HAPPY NEW YEAR
« on: January 01, 2013, 12:37:39 AM »
To all the Australians now into January 1, and to everyone else following along behind, I just wanted to
wish all a happy, satisfying, productive and prosperous 2013.

Hope there aren't too many hangovers amongst the partygoers!!

Words / ONETIME
« on: November 28, 2012, 03:17:04 PM »
I was surprised to see "onetime" as a common word in the Exemption puzzle (cost me the rosette, grrr).
I have only ever seen it with a hyphen, unlike sometime.  Is it common in the UK / Australia / USA?

Whatever / ANAGRAMS
« on: September 14, 2012, 03:06:03 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has favourite anagrams, where the words fit together rather nicely, like:

silent / listen
rescue / secure

The romantic in me also loves earth / heart ...

... and the cynic enjoys auction / caution  ;D

Any others you guys like?
