At the risk of being a whinger, I for one have no knowledge of palmtop being a common word. I think taproom, which I got, and lamppost, which I didn't are at least known to me. I've clicked on the definition and apparantly it's an electronic device. Common? Well if Mike didn't get it, I don't think so!

I am blonde so need to clarify - rare or common for indoors and outdoors?

Three more players found Panegyric than Tourney. Both were under 90.

Thanks TRex I'll bear that in mind next time I have a whinge.

Never heard of TOURNEY - when you press on it to see the meaning it's a tournament (and as a verb it says it's archaic) - the least played common word with 86, next lowest played common word was TYRO with 141 - I think that says it all!. I've learnt a new albeit extremely uncommon word, however I think it needs to be classed as rare.

I too had never heard of it, I got it after thinking of it and then looking the word up first to see if it was a word. Opposite of orthodox.

Well that gave me a sorely needed laugh!

I know about perineums cause of childbirth. So maybe it's more common for childbearing women. Not so for fistula/fistulae.

In Saturday's Challenge game with FACULTIES as the seed word I had a long battle trying and failing to get a rosette! I love a challenge and was keen to see what I missed. Now I know lots will say they're familiar with this word and its plural however I'm not sure I've even heard of it let alone it passing the pub test.
I don't even know if I've seen it before in Chihuahua. I vote fistula and fistulae gets reclassified from common to rare.

Yep I played rostered. I was surprised it was rare.

Oh yes I'm not saying it's not correct. I'm just rambling really about how I keep playing the word and then kick myself. Vesper sounds like the motorcycle too, although I think that's spelt Vespa?

In Wednesday's Standard game, seed word PERVASIVE, I played Vesper and it's not common, and I always seem to forget this. Although after writing this post it will probably help me to remember it is not common! And yet I think VESPERS is common.  When you press on the word for the meaning it says the bell that  summons worshippers to vespers, the vesper bell.

Yep it was the one common word I missed and I even checked how few had played it too! I don't think I ever would have come up with it. But I have heard of it, not sure I've ever used it.
