The Daily Quest / Re: The subject of CHEATING...again....

Viz:  Actually, I kind of felt the reverse kind of pressure, though I mark it down to socially conditioned politeness, not any overt behaviour.  I never felt I couldn't post if I didn't get high scores, but I felt once I'd had fairly high scores a few days in a row, I really ought to post and at least say hi!  ;)

Jay - I mentioned those three bands because they all have songs called  "Lorelei". :)  I really do like them, though.  I like pretty much every kind of music, though some more than others. I love Yes, too.  And I'm really very fond of new wave music - Ultravox, Roxy Music, and such.

Linda - Shane McGowan's not Irish?  I never knew!  Bowie is pretty much god, and I do like Placebo and MCR, too.  I like what I've heard of the others, though I haven't heard much.  Of newer bands, the one I'm currently listening to most is Angels and Airwaves.  Good stuff!

I've heard that before, too; I've never seen the show, though.  Haven't figured out if it's a good or a bad thing!

BTW, Anonsi - I read the reasoning for your name. I thought it was an intentional pun!  Anansi is a spider god, African I think; that's what I think of whenever I read your name.

There are HTML codes for most of the Anglo-Saxon letters, by the way:

Æ - capital aesch
æ - lowercase aesch
Ð - capital eth
ð - lowercase eth
Þ - capital thorn
þ - lowercase thorn

Easy! :) There is, unfortunately, no code that I know of for a yogh or a wyn, though.

(And I've edited my first post, as apparently these codes don't work on the board. Ah, well.  If you ever need them for a Web page, there they are!)

Is it a theme? I hadn't seen anyone else with the one-eyed look.  Damn, and I thought I was being different.  ;D

I chat all the time - AIM, YM, IRC sometimes.

I'll try to coax Mom over here!  And I'll warn her about the needles, especially since I'm the one most likely to be poked!

Oh, god - the song that's the bane of all Ultravox fans! :) Still can't believe it beat "Vienna" to number one!

E: Well, Mom doesn't sit at the computer as much as I do.  ;)  Though that may change when I start my new job.

BBB: Not a huge Wagner fan, but I like him. And Styx and the Pogues and the Cocteau Twins.  ;) I just like the name; go by it IRL, too. And I am a singer!

TMC: I'll try to get her in here, but she's not much for computer chatting.

Alan: Well, it's meant to be Lorelei F., but laurel leaf's appropriate, too, since my given name's a derivative of that!

Hi there, guys!  And it's no coincidence all the Ohioans - Ellen F's the one who pointed me here. :)  Sharpoldlady's another one; that's my mom.  And one or two others, I think.  We're in a knitting group together, and she showed us all the site.

And yep - the forum link up top is what got me here!  I got curious, and stumped on some words, and thought, "gee, maybe I could meet some folks!"

'Course, now I should probably get back to the puzzle.  Two more common words!

I just thought I'd say hi. Hi! I get here sporadically, but I've been having fun. :) Even if it does break my brain sometimes!
