Title: NIGGARDLY challenge game Sunday June 27
Post by: Jacki on June 28, 2021, 02:13:40 PM
Does anyone else think it’s strange that NIGGARD was a rare word in this game when the seed word was NIGGARDLY? I’ve heard the phrase “Don’t be such a niggard,” or the like as often as I’ve heard “We had to look further AFIELD.”
Maybe the niggards are all further afield and that’s why they’re rare!!

I thought it was a bit mean.

I thought it was a bit odd too.  Although we probably don't use the word niggard very much in everyday speech, if you know the word niggardly, surely you'd also know niggard.  Both should be common in my view.
