Thanks for everyone's good wishes.
Basically, my wife's ageing mother lives in a small town in the far north of Thailand that most non-Thais will not have heard of. We have most mod cons, but have never bothered to have internet installed, as it would not be used most of the time.
Consequently, the only internet access I have during our visits is via my smartphone.
I -or at least my alter ego - does actually play most games, but usually only until finding the big word.
