Title: a monstrosity

Please assure me that the word 'eaterium' will under no circumstances be allowed to become part of Chi's lexicon.

It's a monstrosity - an offence against the Holy Ghost for which there is no forgiveness.

What is wrong with the word 'restaurant'?

'Eatery' is bad enough, but 'eaterium'?!!?

What are they doing to my language?

Every day on my way to work I drive past a petrol station which, like most petrol stations these days, also sells fast food.  They have dubbed the fast food operation 'The Foodary' and there is a gigantic 'Foodary' sign out front.  I feel the same way about that as MK feels about 'eaterium'.  >:(

Foodaries/eateriums should more prominently menuize their desserts so that those who salad and soup can enjoy a square meal.

P.S.  Although the phrase Sneeze Bar is not nouveau restaurant speak, I would happily learn that it has been removed by the Academy du Jour.

According to https://www.oishifood.com/restaurant/oishi-eaterium/ it is 'the perfect combination consisting of EAT-EXPLORE-PREMIUM'.

The restaurants are fine, albeit a bit crowded at weekends, the prices are very reasonable, the food is very good and the service is excellent.


It's just the name.

There are lots of words that exist that Chi doesn't allow.
