Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: Jacki on December 24, 2019, 08:45:34 AM
In my family we love Christmas Eve and for me Christmas starts today. I've already been out and queued up for the seafood fare that we so enjoy with our searing temperatures at this time of year. So to all fellow Chihuahua players and to Alan, thanks for providing a relaxing, enjoyable and sometimes annoyingly frustrating medium where I can switch off and be amongst like minded friends.
Merry Christmas and here's to a wonderful 2020 with lots more rosettes!

Lovely sentiments Jacki which I echo. And definitely huge thanks to Alan for giving us our daily fix of Chi!

Merry Christmas everyone and here's to a healthy and prosperous 2020!  :D

What everyone else has said (except about the norovirus - sorry to hear that, Calilasseia).

Christmas almost over all around the world by now, but I hope everyone had a good one.

I noticed that the Challenge puzzle for 25 December included, by chance, both rein and deer, but sadly not reindeer.

(There has been a puzzle in which reindeer could be played, a 10-letter puzzle with INTERBREED as the big word.)

I wonder if magi, gold or myrrh will appear in any of the games for January 6th?
frankincense is a bit too long.

I hadn't realized that Christmas (as in the birthday, not the season) was celebrated on a different day in the Orthodox church, though I know Three Kings Day is a more popular gift-giving day in some cultures.  Learn something new every day!

I love Christmas. It is my third-favourite feast after Pascha [Easter] and Theophany.

We celebrate Christmas (technically, the Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ) on the 7th of January. Liturgically, it combines elements of Western Christianity's Christmas and Epiphany (i.e. it includes the birth and the appearance of the Magi). The Christmas season lasts twelve days as it does in Western Christianity. But the following day (19th January) is Theophany which celebrates the Baptism of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Jordan by the Forerunner, Prophet, and Baptist John and the first public proclamation of the Holy Trinity.

Guess I got that wrong then.  ;D I loathe it.

Perhaps you misunderstood my countdown as days until it was over instead of days until it arrived. I'm not a fan of Giftmas, though.
