I'm tempted to allow it, T - just a tadge. Mainly because of this characteristic passage from the 4th series of Blackadder:

Quote
Melchett:       That's right! And Field Marshal Haig is worried that this may be depressing the men a tadge. So, he's looking to find a way to cheer them up.

Blackadder:     Well, his resignation and suicide would seem the obvious solution.

This usage example, from 1989, was the oldest I could find. Alas, the word doesn't seem to have been picked up yet by any of the standard dictionaries, and examples from books and newspapers are few and far between.

However, the word is used more frequently in blogs and online forums, etc - in the UK and Australia, at least. I dare say it's used even more often in speech.

It's a hard call, but it is a word that is used by some people, and when it is used, it's probably readily understood. I'll give tadge the benefit of the doubt and add it to our word list.
