And many happy returns to a man of uncertain age from a woman of a certain age. ;)

"Now when I was your age," (she says in a faint quavering voice) - all I can say is many happy returns, and while you're celebrating, don't do anything I wouldn't have done, which gives you quite a lot of latitude.

There, there, now, rob. Put a nice little hot water bottle on your tummy ... and roll over in a fetal position. Would a nice scented candle help?

If anyone had told me I get to XX, I'd have told them they were crazy. Funny isn't it...the older you get, the more you remind yourself of your parents...doh! ;D

I have news for you....you youf!  When you get to my age you start to resemble your grandchildren in behaviour. Now that's scary!

...what... ;D...mind you, I have 4 nephews...and I have the greatest fun teaching them...incorrectly.

For example, I correct the 4 year old when he pronounces the word 'yellow'.

I tell him, 'Joel that's very good, and almost correct. It's actually pronounced 'lello''...drives his father nuts it does.

That is positively Machiavellian. I shall have to try it on Holly and Simon, though I doubt that it will work. Holly (aged 3 ) has been patiently teaching me that the correct pronunciation of "ate " is not "et".....it has to rhyme with "gate". Useless to protest that it was the way I was brought up!

Hey Roberts, there is nothing I could say that already hasn't been said.  Eat, drink, be merry - am sure you've done that already!  Do it again in 2 days time for Christmas.  What the hell - indulge yourself - you deserve to!
